Cables are one of the most traditional knitting techniques. We introduce you this very basic, stylish classy bobble cable pattern; the cable every novice will find easy and fun to knit.
You’ll need multiple of 16 + 2 edge stitches.
Work the right side following the diagram. Purl all stitches on the wrong side.
To do the bubble stitch you’ll need a cable needle (CN). Slide the stitch specified by pattern instructions to CN and continue following the bubble stitch diagram. Slide the last stitch from CN (k3tog) to the right needle (for right handed)
Row by row instructions:
Row 1: edge st, 8 sts right cable, 8 sts left cable, edge st
Wrong side (Row 2, 4, 6, etc.): edge st, purl all the way through second last st, edge st
Row 3: edge st, knit all to the second last stitch, edge st
Row 5: edge st, k8, bubble stitch (see bubble stitch diagram ), k8, edge st
Row 7: edge st, k4, bubble stitch, k6, bubble stitch, k4, edge st
Row 9: edge st, p1, k3, p1, 7 sts left cable, p1, k3, edge st
Row 11: same as row 3
